Appropriately called "Bethlehem f'Għajnsielem", this life-size crib, constructed on 20,000 square metre (sqm) of fields on a stretch of land known as Ta' Passi, comes to life during the month of December with about 150 actors taking visitors back in time to Judea of 2000 years ago.

The live nativity scene is spread over an area of 20,000 square metres, and seeks to replicate, the atmosphere and environs of Bethlehem at the time when Jesus Christ was born over 2000 years ago, with the help of around 100 volunteer actors to set the scene.

Children and adults alike are fascinated by this trip back in time. In 2019, Bethlehem in Għajnsielem opened on 13 December and will end on Sunday 5 January 2020.
